Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

Pinnawala is the most popular and accessible place to see large numbers of these lovable animals in a natural habitat. The Orphanage is open from 8.30am to 5.45pm and visitors can interact a little with the elephants during the regulated bathing and feeding times.

Dambulla Cave Temple

The Dambulla temple has five caves and 157 statues of the Lord Buddha, many paintings on the ceilings and walls that emphasis the artistic talent of ancient days. The Dambulla Cave Temple is also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla. The rock which soars upwards some 600 ft above the surrounding plains at one point, gape and enfolds to creates the caverns that mother the caves.

Sigiriya Rock Temple

Sigiriya Rock is the number one tourist attraction in Sri Lanka and the main reason most tourists travel to Sigiriya. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70-hectare fortified town. The royal palace  on the top of the Sigiriya rock was  built by King  Kashyapa in the fifth century . it is a unique combination of 5th century urban planning,architecture, engineering, hydraulic engineering, garden landscape designing, sculpture, art, painting and poetry.
